The story of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ has dominated Western culture for the last 2000 years. It is perhaps the most significant historical event of all time, not only as told in the Gospels, but also as portrayed by history's greatest artists.

The film looks at the story of Christianity as depicted in art, from the time of the early Christians to the present day. You will see works by masters such as Caravaggio, Leonardo, Raffael, El Greco and Dali. Filmed in Jerusalem, in the United States and across Europe, the film reveals the different ways artists have depicted the story of Easter throughout the ages, and by extension, the history of us all.
