It may be just a tower block on the edge of the forest, but the look on the faces of the people hoping to become its inhabitants shows that it is one of the last bastions of civilisation in a world in decay. To live here, protected from the dangers of the environment, is everyone's goal. But when the caretaker's dog disappears, an irrational fear spreads among the inhabitants. Security officer Anna appeals to reason and begins searching for the animal. Meanwhile, her daughter Iris locks herself in the bathroom. She is convinced that, thanks to her "evil eye", she is responsible for the dog's disappearance. When a newly formed watchdog group demands tighter security measures and the reinstatement of a suitability test for all residents, Anna begins to fear for her right to stay. In Natalia Sinelnikova's feature debut, the microcosm of a high-rise building provides the backdrop for a timeless dystopian experiment. At the heart of the film is the power of fear - a self-replicating system that can shatter social cohesion and has long dictated contemporary social and political discourses.
