A riveting new entry in the legendary Danish Department Q detective series. A hit with audiences, led by the stellar Ulrich Thomsen, who once again portrays Detective Carl Mørck. After a string of shocking events, including the suicide of retiring colleague Christian, Carl's younger colleague Rose sets out to solve an unsolved tragic death on the isolated island of Bornholm, and delves into her own traumatic past. Newly engaged Carl also arrives on the island and joins Rose and their detective colleague Assad in investigating an old cold case of a dead girl found in a tree. The murder, officially written up as a traffic accident, is linked to both the local police and a cult of sun worshippers, where young women have been disappearing without a trace for years. As the island becomes more dangerous, the pressure is on for Carl to solve the case as soon as possible. But investigating means looking into his dark past, and hampering his happy life with his fiancée. Director Ole Christian Madsen does a stellar job of ramping up the omnipresent tension while still maintaining the poetry of Jussi Adler-Olsen's novel.
