You are petting a tomcat and he keeps purring, until he suddenly scratches you... Andreas and Stefan are two men in their prime who know how to live. They take care of each other, their beautiful house and garden, and their beloved tomcat named Moses, who appeared one day and decided to stay. Their harmonious life is an inspiration to friends and colleagues, many of whom would love to stay (for the night). Yet an unexpected and shocking moment of violence, an inexplicable act on the line between accident and overreaction, disrupts everything. Mistrust, fear and alienation lead to Andreas and Stefan drifting apart, especially since each of them needs to grieve in his own way. This intimate film by Austrian actor and director Klaus Händl focuses on our darker sides, relying on the excellent performances by the main protagonists (including Toni the tomcat). Its Teddy Award for the best queer film at IFF Berlinale 2016 is fully deserved.
