India is a land of colourful fabrics. But who makes them and how currently remains somewhat in the shadows. The film introduces us to the depressing environment of a textile factory where the main roles are occupied by machinery, trucks, tubs full of dyes and the various sounds that they produce. In the midst of this mechanical world move the factory workers – men of different ages and persuasions who gradually merge with the automated processes, themselves becoming just another cog in the machinery of production. Through impressive images the documentary captures lives from which the bright colours are slowly fading away.
