Forty-eight-year-old Etero sells in a drugstore in a remote Georgian village. She does not fit in with the local community, has never married and has no children. She is an independent woman of strong principles who doesn't say much. One morning while picking blackberries over a cliff, she stumbles and almost falls into a wild river. After the terrifying incident, she begins to experience the world around her with greater intensity and with all her senses. But a late sexual awakening takes both Etero herself and her surroundings out of their comfort zone. Told with insight, this emancipatory drama is adapted from a novel by Tamta Melashvili, a Georgian writer committed to the struggle for women's rights. Like its protagonist, the film has a mixture of earthiness and casual charm.
